I met Kathy a few months back when I did an amazing shoot at a place here in Raleigh called The Whiskey Kitchen. It was for a group of fabulously talented women called Chicks in Construction (you can find out all about them here!), and I pretty much got to hang out and take their picture while they had a monthly meeting. With drinks. And dinner. And lots and lots of laughter.
Flash forward to just recently, when I heard from Kathy that she wanted a big family portrait session. Her side of the family, her husband's side of the family, and of course, the cutest little one you've ever seen! We were a little nervous about the weather... is it going to rain? Thunder? Tsunami?? With the crazy clouds and weird weather patterns, we decided to meet up at Grounds Cafe, one of my favorite spots in Wendell. They have a pond, some outdoor fireplaces, outdoor couches with overhangs... and a bunch of outdoor games for when the weather is good! It's absolutely beautiful there, and thankfully, the day we all met up was no exception.
Everyone's mood matched the beautiful weather... and Kathy's little guy was the star! He was absolutely adorable, and it was hard not to smile at how much love there was that morning. Everyone wanted a turn holding him and he just smiled and laughed through the whole morning. It was a great day to have a great day, that's for sure! I hope to see the Walker Family again soon and have more photo adventures!
