caitlin, charlie, and emerson
Back when I was a special education teacher for Wake County (like it was soooo long ago, teeheehee) I used to work with Caitlin when I would visit her classroom and her kiddos. When Caitlin and Charlie were pregnant with Emerson, I was super excited and honored that they wanted me to do their maternity photos. Then when Emerson made her appearance last 4th of July, I got to take her newborn photos. SUPER FUN!! Over the 4th of July this year, I got to do her one year shoot (blog post coming soon, I promise!) AND I got to do the whole family about a month ago!! So basically... this family is now stuck with me ;)
de hart botanical gardens
If you have never been to Louisburg North Carolina, you are missing out! Located about 35 minutes north of Raleigh, it has so many beautiful places to visit, like Person Place, Laurel Mill, and Alpaca Dreams. My favorite though is De Hart Botanical Gardens, located right off of 401. The have hiking trails, a waterfall or two, a bamboo forest, and a gorgeous pond that always has about 20 turtles sunning themselves. Super. Darn. Cute.
I met up with Caitlin and her family one evening in June for a photo shoot at the gorgeous De Hart Botanical Gardens. It wasn't too hot out yet, but it was buggy, cloudy, and the sound of thunder was rolling in ever so faintly... we had to hurry! We were still able to get a bunch of beautiful family pictures in before the rain starting to pour, thankfully! We had a great time, but the important thing was they were able to finally update their family portraits hung on the walls. Emerson was now included ;)
