my first mitzvah family
I was looking at my blog the other day and thought to myself… HOLY MOLY I haven’t shared a mitzvah in FOR-EV-ER! This is just unacceptable in so many ways. So I thought, what better way to get back into it than sharing one from one of my favorite families. This very handsome and very accomplished young man is Grayson. On June 15th, he was called to the Torah to be bar mitzvah at Temple Beth Or in Raleigh and I had the privilege of photographing his special day. SO MUCH FUN. Fun fact: Grayson’s oldest brother, Harrison, was my first experience as a mitzvah photographer! Last year, I photographed these festivities for their middle brother, Lucas, and now sweet Grayson has grown up, too! It has been such a joy to document and participate in (can you find a super fun shot of me in this post???) so many special moments and fun memories for the Schwinger family over the years. I’m so sad that Gray is the last of the Schwinger boys I’ll get to photograph, but thankful that they are now friends and will forever be stuck with me. Insert my evil laugh here ;)
the party deets
Grayson’s Mexican themed mitzvah fiesta was amazingly planned and decorated by his mom extraordinaire, Sharon!!! She has planned every single party by herself and has done a PHENOMENAL job! In fact, I keep telling her she should sell her party services!! This party was no exception, and what a fun day it was! I mean, how can you not have fun when there is a taco bar from Qdoba? Plus, all the games (limbo!), dancing (yes, the horah, but have you ever had a dance contest with your mom?), and hula hooping (it used to be so easy!) made a completely enjoyable afternoon for everyone. Shout out to Q with K2Productions for the tunes, he always does a great job!
mazel tov, grayson! your family is so proud of you!
