Emily and Zach! I. Love. These Humans. These two are so laid back and so much fun! Their engagement session was almost an entire year earlier in June 2020.
The wedding was originally supposed to be November 1, 2020. But due to the pandemic, their date got pushed back til June 2021. It was a beautiful day with sunshine and a few sprinkles. A smattering of puddles set the scene for a few sweet umbrella pictures. If it rains on your wedding day, we’re definitely going to take advantage of that photo opportunity, even if for just a few shots.
The wedding was an upscale casual event, planned by Chelsy at The Gathering Co. Emily and Zach both got ready on site at the beautiful wedding venue, historic Market Hall in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Emily’s dress was from Miss Ruby Bridal Boutique and Zach’s suit was from Joe Sugar's. And they both looked sharp. The ceremony was led by their sister-in-law, Zach’s brother’s wife, Louisa Ward. Having a friend or family member as your officiant can add an exceptionally personal tone to a wedding and Louisa did exactly that.
After the ceremony, we took the couple’s pictures outside in the areas around the venue. And then, it was time for the reception! I should mention the very important detail that Zach loves shoes. Loves. Them. So Emily and Zach each had wedding sneakers for their wedding reception. Speaking of the reception, the cake knife was from Zach’s grandparents. We could read into this as a gift of flavor and zest for life.
The rest of the evening was full of dancing and laughter; it was a genuinely fantastic time to celebrate the couple. A sparkler send off perfectly wrapped up the festivities at the end of the night.
Congratulations, Emily and Zach!
