back in the day…
A while ago (okay, it was almost two years ago, now!!!), I photographed Leslie and Chris’ engagement session. It was such a fun day because - well, they are just so much fun! We walked around the antiques, we goofed off among the Christmas trees, and we laughed the WHOLE TIME. Especially that time they pretended to be super serious -and it resulted in one of their favorite photos from the day! We referenced this favorite engagement portrait in some of their wedding portraits to add an extra element of continuity to the photo story of their life together. It. Was. Fantastic. I’m sure you’ll know which one when you see it.
now, about their wedding at market hall…
If this wasn’t the most magical December wedding last year, I can’t imagine what was! Leslie and Chris got married and hosted their beautiful modern wintry reception at the stunning Park View at Market Hall in downtown Raleigh. Staircases abound, so the opportunity for the unique perspective with overhead shots here is super fun! Thanks to my wonderful second shooter, Candice Rork Photography, we were able to seamlessly cover multiple angles of the same moments.
I also just have to mention the abundant florals were composed of a lovely neutral palette from Teacup Floral. How gorgeous are they?! They were on the stairs, at the altar, they were EVERYWHERE, and I loved them. And of course, some ended up in my hair by the end of the night… as always!
Now, we can’t ignore the major dessert factor. SweetWater Ices not only brought dessert AND sass, but so much style! And… all those cookies… they were made by Leslie and the moms. Yes! For real! Didn’t they look positively delicious! Sometimes DIY is seriously the BEST option. There was even an Italian one, just like one my Nana used to make. SOOO YUMMY!
and we need to talk about this dress:
Leslie’s dress was from Oak City Bridal. This dress was positively stunning and unique in that she did not wear a veil, but instead the gown was complemented by a cape! It was such a beautiful and inspired element to finish her look. She was the absolutely personification of the most glowing bride, thanks to hair and makeup by Wedded Kiss. I mean, Chris cried during the first look, and it was everything. She topped it off with a fur cape at the end of the evening under the sparklers. EEEEEEEK, so gorgeous!!
making the forever memories
Sadly, Chris’ dad passed away in March, so Leslie and Chris’ wedding was the last time the entire family was together for fun and photos. I’m so honored that these images hold such significant moments for everyone involved. It was truly a special event. The entire day was organized by Amanda Blair by Design and could not have been more perfect.
congrats to these two amazing people and cheers to many years of champagne filled saturdays!
