As restrictions on gatherings during Covid started to loosen, Kelsy and Andrew decided to go ahead with their wedding. While their event had been originally planned for the Barn at Valhalla, they needed a new venue. And what better place to move your wedding than to your own back yard?
It really made sense because Andrew had proposed to Kelsy on their front porch. We shot their engagement pictures there. And, it’s where we took all of the family portraits. They are a very family oriented couple and what makes a house a home? The people you share it with. Memories! So many of their milestone memories at this house!
So Kelsy and Andrew’s sprawling property in Siler City truly was the perfect location for their special day! They had so many family members travel by RV and trailers that they organized them into a temporary micro-town. It was so fun to see upon arrival, and I felt like I was at a concert tailgating event before the wedding took place.
The wedding ceremony happened in front of some of the gorgeous greenery at the edge of their lawn. You’ll see in the pictures, a super cute stuffed animal that looks exactly like Kelsy and Andrew’s dog at the start of the aisle. Their sweet pup was in a doggy hotel for the weekend and they had the stuffed animal placed around their event as a reminder of him. Another unique detail was that Kelsy wore two necklaces. One of which was her grandmother’s and all of the women cousins in the family have worn it for their weddings. The other necklace was a gift from her dad, SOOOOO sweet!
After the ceremony, we took the couple portraits in and around the woods at the edge of their property. The sun was perfectly amazing and you’ll see what I mean when you scroll down to one of my favorite bridal portraits EVER. And then… party time! Kelsy did a first dance with her two brothers. And when the DJ played “Wagon Wheel” I literally thought the dance floor was going to break from everyone dancing so hard. It was AWESOME! A truly fantastic day!
Congratulations, Kelsy and Andrew!
