This elopement, although a couple of years old at this point, took some cues from the recent wave of micro weddings due to COVID. However, while it was an event that was tiny in size, it was definitely big on feelings.
Mary, the bride’s sister, is a friend of mine. Our kids were boyfriends and girlfriends in preschool. Ahhh preschool love. The. Cutest! I digress… Mary contacted me about a month before this summertime wedding explaining that her sister Tracy was going to get married to Danny sooner than expected because unfortunately their mother is dying. Are you feeling all the feels here? Because I am.
So, Mary organized everything (yes, everything!) for her sister and brother-in-law to be married sooner than later in order to be sure that their mom could be in attendance. Which is why Mary was not a bridesmaid. Her daughters, though, were in the wedding ceremony as a bridesmaid and the flower girl. And they were SUPER CUTE.
Tracy got ready at her parents’ house and the wedding ceremony was held at E. Carroll Joyner Park in Wake Forest, North Carolina. It was a gorgeous day for an outdoor summer wedding. The sun was bright, the blue sky had a few picturesque clouds... The grass and trees were lush with full, brilliant shades of green. Chairs were set up on the lawn for family and a few close friends to witness Tracy and Danny get married. Their wedding included a unity sand ceremony, which we followed with family portraits, and then portraits of the bride and groom.
After the formal pictures, everyone went back to Tracy’s parents’ home in Youngsville, North Carolina, for a reception which included a dance floor in the backyard. It was a beautiful day celebrating full hearts and love in all the ways.
